Counting the Omer

1,980 years ago yesterday (Shabbat, just before sundown) Yahshua arose from the dead and is alive forevermore!

Yes, today is the 1,980th anniversary of the Messiah, acting as the High Priest (after the order of the Meleck Tzadik), presented the Firstfruits from the grave as the wave offering before the Father's throne in heaven. These resurrected saints were raised from the dead soon after Yahshua's resurrection (Mt 27:52-53). They walked out their graves, clothed with an incorruptible body. At that same moment the Firstfruits of the barley were being harvested by the priests in a nearby field on the Mount of Olives.

What a spectacle it must have been for the faithful Israelites who were in attendance at the Firstfruit harvest. They were there to see the fulfillment of the very rehearsal in which they were participating! It is not surprising that we read in the early chapters of the book of Acts, that. . . "a great company of Cohanim (priests) were obedient to the faith." (Acts 6:7)

Today, on the day of Firstfruits, (Sunday, April 27th) we begin the prophetic countdown to Shavuot. Each year, we count the seven Sabbaths that lead us to the 50th day which is the one day Feast of Shavuot - misnamed "Pentecost" by the Greeks. The 50th day was the day that the Jewish Apostles were "all in one accord, in one place" when they were filled with and empowered by the Holy Spirit. The Apostles were obedient to the Torah Command to "count the omer" (a measure of the Firstfruits of the barley crop). The day after seven Sabbaths, we are required to have a "kadosh mikra" or holy assembly of saints at which we celebrate the goodness and blessings of our Creator. Hebrew 10:25 states, "do not forsake the assembly or yourselves together, as the manner of some (the clueless) is. . ." This statement is directly referring to the commanded assemblies of Yahweh. This year we are sponsoring (with the generous help of our ministry partners) a national assembly of saints in the "mile high city" of Denver, Colorado. It may not be Jerusalem, but almost everyone who attends from North America will have to "go up to the Feast!"

Join us for an entire family weekend adventure of music, fellowship, teaching, and worship as we celebrate the prophetic shadow picture embedded in the Feast of Shavuot. Paul Wilbur, Jimmie Black, Brenda Wheeler and others will provide the inspirational music. Glenn McWilliams and Paul Wilbur will join Michael Rood on the teaching platform and Mrs. Noah, her puppets, and their helpers will lead a weekend of entertaining Biblical adventures for the children.

There is limited seating for this event. You must register in order to attend any of the events - and you must register very soon if you want to take advantage of the special hotel pricing. This event, and the hotel, will fill up.

Please call our office today to register for the event (616-583-0200) and then immediately call the Denver Tech Center Hotel (soon to be the Double Tree) (1-800-327-2242) to secure your room. Indicate that you are with Michael Rood Ministries to receive the special $79.00 rate. You now have less than 19 days (May 15th and maybe less if capacity is reached) to make your reservations to be part of this life changing experience.

When you come to the Feast, do not come with "empty hands" (Deut 16:9-12; 14:22-27). Minister to others. Search deeply to find a way that you can be a blessing to another person. This is the Feast that culminates the Firstfruits harvest. Be prepared to share your blessings with the widow the orphan, the needy among us, and the Levites who serve the "Leavenless Bread of Life" to you.

Counting the Omer - and counting down our days to Shavuot. . .

Weekly Torah Teachings

VideoOH WELL, that's the way it goes. This week in our Torah portion we receive word of a great and terrible famine in the land of Canaan. Remembering the path his father walked, Isaac set out for the land of Egypt where there was plenty of food and water. But YHWH stopped Isaac and called him to have faith in his ability to provide for him even in the midst of famine. Isaac obeyed and YHWH delivered. While everyone else was struggling to survive and eke out a meager existence, Isaac's planting produced a hundred fold. But as we shall see in this portion blessings can sometimes become a curse. As Isaac increased, by the hand of YHWH, the Canaanites and Philistines decreased. King Abimelech astutely recognized that this shift of prosperity also brought with it a shift of potential political power. Soon Abimelech's men began fighting with Isaac over wells and water. Repeatedly Isaac was exiled from the wells he and his men had dug. But every time they moved YHWH would bless them with yet more water and prosperity. Soon Abimelch wanted to play "Let's Make a Deal" with Isaac. Here we see the beginning of a powerful pattern that will haunt the children of Israel right to the present day. We shall also see that not every well is the same. Join me this week at the "Wells of Isaac" and let us drink deeply of the pure Torah, as we journey together on the Ancient Path of Faith

From The Pan To The Fire!

Frying PanFor five years, Michael Rood has not had the permission to share two visions that he received in Israel that concern the intermediate fulfillment of the Day of Trumpets. The time to speak out has now come. Yom Teruah 6008 - The Day of Trumpets 2008 - October 1- 5, Detroit Michigan, will be Michael's farewell message before returning to Israel. The Prime Minister of Israel has just resigned and the hounds of hell are gleefully dancing over their newly unhampered opportunity to revive Israel's covenant with death and their agreement with hell - and the U.S. State Department - to nullify the Almighty's covenant with Abraham. There is little doubt that the brimstone is about to hit the fan.

There is no time to waste. Michael is returning to Israel so that he may record "The Seventy-Week Ministry of Messiah" which will detail the Gospel of the Kingdom as it is taught on location throughout the promise land. He also hopes to record his version of the book of Acts, "Learning to Walk by the Spirit - the HARD Way!" and finally culminating with "The Revelation of Messiah" recorded on the aisle of Patmos where the Revelation was first received by Yochanan.

Don't put it off - get to the Day of Trumpets prophetic conference in Detroit - if you have to walk. If you can't make it, we will see you on the sea of fire and glass when the smoke clears...

The Rood Crew

P.S.
The entire Rood Crew is standing firm in Michigan to fully support Michael's filming endeavors in the Land of Israel. Michael needs your continued support to keep the troops fed and supplied with the ammo that is necessary to keep the enemy on the run. Michael's knee is growing stronger, so we are sending him back to the frontlines in Israel where he will be fulfilling his teaching ministry. We need your help - you know what to do!

Torah Defense Force

Dear Young Guns,

I am writing a note to the generation who is smart enough, young enough, & strong enough to learn the truth now, live the truth in the coming maelstrom, and teach the truth to the other adventurers on the path of life who will be desperate for the truth once the big shakedown begins.

If you are between the ages of thirteen and twenty-five and want to give your life in service to the Creator of the Universe during the most exciting epoch in the human race - please register for the Torah Defense Force training which will be introduced at the Day of Trumpets prophetic conference in Detroit.

"They that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and they that turn many to righteousness shall shine like the stars - forever - and ever - and ever!" (Daniel 12:3)

Meet me in Detroit to begin your training - it's not for cowards or quitters. If you don't keep the commandments stay home and play church.

Father's love for a straying son > Jacob's Ladder

VideoIn this week's portion assumptions abound, and not one of them is made by the Creator. What should have been and could have been a very tender expression of a father's love for a straying son, quickly turned into a full blown example of a dysfunctional family, with the father and eldest son competing with the wits of the mother and second son. The rebellious son is promised a blessing by the father, while the obedient son is convinced by his mother to lie to and deceive his father in order to steal his brother's blessing. What could possibly be the reason for the Creator to include this pathetic example of family in the Torah? What would cause the chosen family to act this way? What were these heroes of the bible thinking when they perpetrated such things against one another? Please join me again this week on the ancient path of faith and discover the answers to these and many other questions that will arise as we walk through the Torah one step at a time.
